Recently we brought Shuturp on as an artist collaborator and she brought one of her characters to life on a pair of custom hi-tops! This character, Frank, is a wily dude with ultra hip glasses and a grin you won't forget. At the age of 60 and while slightly balding, Frank made the decision to travel the world on our feet via custom kicks. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you decided on the moniker Shuturp?
My name is Ellie, I am 25 and I live in QLD Australia.
I started Shuturp around 4 years ago as a place to store my art and then I turned it into a business about 2 years later when I noticed people actually liked my stuff!
How did you find your signature style?
I am not sure I think it’s just because i’m a bit weird.
Is there something you can’t live without in your studio?
SHELVES

Julia Jacklin is amazing.
What made you want to pursue this project with Baggins?
I have always wanted to design a pair of Converse or Vans... Then I came across you guys and I just jumped at the opportunity! I am so excited.
Do you have an illustration or project you’re most proud of?
I recently sold a skateboard deck at an auction that is funding Iraq's first skate-park which is very cool I think!
What advice would you want to tell artists breaking into “scene”?
Do YOU. Don’t copy anyone else, create things that YOU like and never ever ever give up even if you’re crying in the shower eating icecream. It’ll work out if you want it to!
When you’re not creating art, what do you do in your spare time?
I am usually eating or making music! I enjoy going out to eat..food is life
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Robbie Williams or David Beckham… I have loved Robbie since I was a small child and I wanted to be David Beckham so much that I wore football outfits everyday for about 5 years straight.

What can we expect next from Shuturp?
I am hoping to bring out a whole range of clothing this year. Pants, jumpers, shorts etc!
