STAFF HIGHLIGHT: KATIE

Hey guys, it's about time you meet Katie, she's kind of a big deal around here in the Baggins World. Why, you ask? Well, she's the Baggins General Manager! Back in 2017, she crossed the Atlantic ocean to make her home in Canada and in 2018 she journeyed into the Baggins world, first in the orders department and eventually made her way to GM! We've never looked back. We truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with Katie, and even though we sometimes don't understand her Scottish slang, we wouldn't have it another way, and it keeps things exciting!

(BB) Baggins Blog: Why don't you introduce yourself?

(KT) Katie Tibbetts: Hello, I’m Katie, I am the General Manager at Baggins Shoes. Originally from Scotland, I found myself on this little island in Canada after leaving the homeland to travel. Now I am hoping to make it my permanent home!

BB: What are your current top 3 product picks?

KT: Always #1 - A Vans Classic White Slip-On, I love how versatile they are, they go with anything and you can do anything to them to make them your own.

#2 - The new arrival for spring, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Top University Red. I love the texture on this shoe, simple but cool with the Converse logo patched all over the upper.

#3 - Herschel Little America Mid Backpack – Allover Daisy Print. I love the Little America Backpacks, this one just makes my day(isy)! A cute print on a black so it will go with all my other black and grey.

BB: How would you describe your style?

KT: Comfortable, Casual and Cozy. I hate to be cold and don’t like to spend too much energy on planning. I live in jeans and hoodies and on the coldest of days, you might see me rocking my hooded blanket!

BB: What’s the craziest/best/most different thing you’ve done in a pair of shoes from Baggins?

KT: The most recent crazy thing was exploring the Golden Circle in Iceland in my 1460 Pascal Virginia Docs. They were super comfy for the long days and kept my feet cozy in the cold temperatures.

BB: What do you do during your free time?

KT: Everyone knows I love a good nap! When I’m feeling lively, I like to get out for coffee and cakes, do a bit of thrift shopping or explore the greater Victoria area, Sooke Potholes is one of my favourite places in the summer!

BB: What do you love most about Victoria?

KT: The variety, it’s a quaint little city with great food and thrift shops with so much to do right on its doorstep, like Sooke and the west coast. It reminds me a lot of Edinburgh, but with something a little extra that made me stick around!

BB: What are your current favourite tunes?

KT: I’ve been missing home and needing something familiar lately, so I have been trawling through the UK Charts from all decades. A blast from the past always brings a smile!

BB: What do you love most about working for Baggins?

KT: The team and shoes. We all have our strengths and work together to get it done. From the guys in store to Tara and Glen at the top. We may be small but we are mighty in what we can do!
