For a lot of people, spring break symbolizes a week off work and school—a time for much-needed rest, relaxation, and perhaps some housecleaning paired with a cold beverage or two.But for Madilyn, the next staffer featured in the Baggins Blog Meet the Staff Series, spring break in 2016 meant orientation time as she spent her days breaking in her new role as Retail Manager at Baggins.
Even though it meant giving up her spring break this year, Madilyn is stoked on her current role at Baggins.
“We have a solid team at the store these days. We’re all full of corny jokes, semi-bad dance moves, and wicked cool music picks,” she says. “I also love getting to hear all of the amazing stories from customers all over the world.”
Based on Madilyn’s shoe selection alone, it’s no surprise to learn her favourite places to hang out on her days off include the record store and live music events. “Or somewhere napping,” she adds.
Along with a handful of staple shoes, Madilyn believes there is always room to add more to her vast shoe collection, and some of her most recent additions are pretty creative. They aren’t exactly what you’d call staples, but that’s part of the appeal of working at Victoria’s favourite shoe shop.
In no particular order, Madilyn’s favourite purchases at Baggins as of late include one pair of Vans, one pair of Converse and one pair of Stance.
For Vans, Madilyn couldn’t resist the Vans Authentic (Pool Vibes) Aqua Sea/True White that feature cats, inner tubes, and beach balls. Lots of ‘em!
What more could you ask for? A summer 2016 arrival, these special Vans appeal to the animal love in all of us during any time of the year.
For a subtler everyday look, Madilyn turns to her Converse Cons Zakim Low Top Black/White/White that feature a secret inner floral print.
Between the reinforced construction and the classic black and white star logo colour scheme, these low-tops are the ultimate everyday enjoyment shoe.
If you’d rather a more “in your face” floral appeal, might we suggest this oh-so-beautiful pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Lux Mid Wedges in Black/Egret/Pink Floral?
Then there are these limited edition Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low Tops in Black/White/Egret Florals, a beautiful throwback to the floral 90s.
Next up, when it comes to Stance, Madilyn is loving these Stance Socks Mens Food Coma Yellow.
“Awesome pizza and Beavis & Butthead, amirite?!” she says of her love for the classic 90s cartoon.
