Whether your kids aren’t able to tie their shoes yet, or are in too much of a rush to fiddle with laces, one of the best things we offer is a selection of alternate closure solutions. Many schools require shoes with no laces for the younger students, to ensure transitions to recess and gym time are simple.
YOUTH SIZING:
A great option for kids’ size 10.5- 3 youth is the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Kids Mis Axel University Red/Black. These are a bit more of a classic skate shoe look with secured laces. The tongue is tied down with elastics which makes them easy on and off, and you never have to adjust the laces or tie them up. The fun red and black combination makes them sure cool and great for kids who are active and stylish.
Another fun option from Converse is the Converse Kids El Distrito 2.0 Low Top Black/Black. This style mimics the one star in adults which has picked up popularity through 2020 and 2021. These have fully elastic laces which means you don’t ever have to tie them, and they’ll stay secure on your kids feet. These sweet shoes are available in youth size 10.5-3.
Not into Converse? We also have some great options from Vans. We tend to stick to Slip-ons from Vans as they are the most convenient option for parents and kids alike. We’re not going to lie, they also have the best patterns to offer too.
The Vans Kids Classic Slip-on Green Slime is a classic black slip on with a bit of a twist, lime green flames along the side. This classic canvas shoe has all the standard features, padded ankle, elastic accents, and rubber waffle outsole.

Don’t worry, if your kids have outgrown the kids’ section and you’re wondering what to do for alternate closure options, Slip-ons are available from Vans in adult sizes. We also have elastic Synch Band laces for lace up shoes so you can replace the standard lace with an easy on/off option. Staff hint: we put Synch Bands in all our shoes, they look like normal laces without any of the hassle.
TODDLER SIZING:
At Baggins, we love the tiny toddler shoes, they always have the most adorable options, and you can't help but find the teeny tiny shoes so cute.
Your little one can go wild with the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 2V Low Top Cheetah Print Black/ Natural Ivory. This is a toddler option available in toddler size 2-10. It has two easy and adjustable Velcro straps across the top, without giving up the classic Converse look.
Another great Velcro option is the Vans Toddler Old Skool V Delphinium. This style has a classic Vans Old Skool look, canvas/suede combo upper and two easy-to-manage Velcro straps. The classic rubber waffle sole perfect for good grip on the playground or at daycare. These also come in Toddler size 2-10.

INFANT SIZING:
Finally, we do offer a small selection of infant shoes which come in size 1-4. The Vans Slip-on Baby Checkerboard Black/White or Converse Infant First Star Black (also comes in red, pink, navy and white).
