Last month we introduced you to Clare, and here now to continue our Meet the Staff of Baggins adventure is J’aime, a Sales Associate by day and Russian impersonator also by day.
J’aime is the proud owner of 34 pairs of shoes and counting! So if you’re looking for someone who can help support you in your shoe addiction, come talk to J’aime. She’ll indulge you a bit and help you pick out the best pair(s) to add to your collection.
Amongst her vast shoe collection, her top three favourite pairs right now have come straight from the Baggins warehouse. They include:
The Vans Black Ball Priz True White, which are a throwback to those easy daze of Velcro.
These eco-friendly shoes feature water-based dyes and inks, UltraCush insoles for comfort, and sturdy canvas uppers with leather side stripe details. The three Velcro closures will have you out the door with minimal effort!
While J’aime prefers these in the crispiest of whites, they also have a black counterpart, the Vans Black Ball Priz Black/Black.
If you don’t know how to tie laces—which, in today’s era of on-the-fly convenience, who does?—either of these pairs of Vans are going to give you the support you need, without all those laces to trip you up. (Just don’t try to run a marathon in these…you’ll probably need to learn shoe laces for that).
When it comes to black-bodied shoes, J’aime chooses to rock these classic Vans Old Skool in Black/White.

J’aime believes Vans Old Skools have stood the test of time because of their ability to last for years and years. While colours such as the navy above are nice, J’aime is seeing a huge demand for all-white or all-black Chucks in high or low tops, and neutral-coloured Vans Old Skools for the sk8rs of Victoria.

Throughout each shift at Baggins, J’aime takes great pride in helping people, including locals and visitors to the Island, walk out the door with their new favourite pairs of shoes in their bags. “I love getting to know all the people of the community and travellers who visit from all over the globe!” she says of what she likes best about her job.
On her days off, you might find J’aime taking long, non-romantic walks down Dallas Road—unless she’s chosen to hide out at home for the majority of the day. Your best bet is to come to Baggins to see her and the rest of our staff in action.
