1 - Keeping it Classic
The Era was the second ever style of Vans shoe, released in 1976. It was designed by legendary skateboarders, Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, to be a more durable version of the original Authentic style. It was the go-to skate sneaker during the 1970s and is still loved for its clean look and practical style.

2 - Extra Durability
What exactly is the difference between the Authentic and the Era? While they have the same silhouette and classic rubber waffle sole for excellent grip, the Era is enhanced with durability in mind. It has padded collars around the ankle for comfort and support as well as a reinforced heel and tongue.

3 - Constantly Evolving
Another difference between the styles of sneakers that the Authentic stays closer to classic, while the Era is often the first to evolve as Vans develops new technology. You can find the Era in a variety of materials such as canvas, suede, leather, and more! For extra comfort try a style with an updated cushioned insole from the ComfyCush line.

4 - Fun Fashions
There are so many styles of Era to choose from, with anything from classic checkerboard or bold prints. The simple low-top design lends itself well to getting playful with colours and patterns. The Era has a ton of style options, and suits crazy all-over prints just as well as monochrome colours.

5 - Points for Versatility
Because there are so many variations of Era to choose from, it may be the most versatile Vans shoe! The Era combines the style of a lace-up sneaker with the ease of a low-profile shoe. The classic silhouette is stylish enough to be dressed up and durable enough to still shred at the skate park. What more could you ask for in a sneaker?
