Coastal dwelling tattoo and textile artist Emma Wetherill (@guttertattoo) (She/
They) are compelled by both the lightness and darkness of life, pulling influence
from the movement and shapes of nature and the imagination, resulting in
emotional imagery for many varied moods.

This Eggmotional shoe was created with mental health in mind. The outside
panel depicts the egg as joyful, while on the inside panel the egg is squished and
glum. Just like many of us hide our dejected parts and put on a smile to appease
the outside world. The tongue panel egg sticks its tongue out as a humourous
balance between the internal and external moods of the egg. Yes, this is one
emotionally deep egg.

A soft touch on how society has shaped us to hide half of our whole selves from
one another. And a solid reminder that those who appear happy may very well be
facing internal turmoil, so make sure to always check up on your loved ones.
While some of Emma's work proves to house deeper meaning in simple art,
often, the greatest weight of inspiration can be owed to an innate admiration of
life and death. A balancing of reality with the imagined world. Unlimited
