Baggins Original Art Nouveau Collection

Our Art Nouveau series of Baggins Originals designs pulls artwork from the Smithsonian archives, specifically from a book published in 1896 called Plants and Their Application to Ornament by Franco-Swiss decorative artist Eugène Grasset. Grasset was one of the most in-demand artists of his time and was massively influential on the upcoming Art Nouveau movement. Although Grasset's name is in lights, the drawings and lithographs were actually executed by his students, including several by Maurice Pillard Verneuil (1869-1942), who himself went on to publish his own influential ornamental pattern books.
