Here at Baggins, we're huge animal enthusiasts! From the days of having a shop cat, to now providing snacks for neighbourhood dogs, we certainly love our furry friends! It was only a matter of time before we joined forces with another organization involving animals. With strong ties to our community it was a no brain-er to team up with the BC SPCA for this promotion.

The BC SPCA is the largest animal welfare organization in North America and the largest animal sheltering society in the world. With 44 locations across BC, their mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm as well as wild animals across the province. On Vancouver Island, there are multiple locations all of which care for abused and homeless animals until adoption. In the Greater Victoria Area, the BC SPCA has an adoption facility, the provincial call centre and is home to Wild ARC. Wild Arc is a wildlife rehabilitation centre that specializes in helping sick, injured, and orphaned animals return to the wild once recovered.
This September the Victoria Branch will even be hosting a community event, Paws for a Cause. Paws for a Cause is 2 KM walk along Dallas Road in Victoria, BC. It aims to raise much needed funds to help animals in the Greater Victoria Area, all while soaking up that late summer sun! There will be food trucks, a beer garden, live entertainment as well as animal related vendors and fun for families to enjoy. So put your best paw forward and walk in support of the animals on September 9, 2018!
