Miranda has been a part of the Baggins team for about 2.5 years now, which is just enough to bring her shoe collection up a few notches to 10 pairs or so. Amongst them are a few pairs of Vans Lo Pros, which Miranda insists she “lives” in. It’s easy to see why, too:
The Vans Authentic Lo Pro Black/Black is one of Baggins' top-selling pairs due to their slim profile, dependable lace-up canvas uppers, metal eyelets, and vulcanized rubber soles. They are perfect for when your work place calls for black footwear and yet you still want to be fashionable when the shift is over and it’s time for dinner and drinks.
If you’d rather take a chance and go for solid white, the Vans Authentic Lo Pro True White is a delicate feminine take on the popular classic lace-up shoe. They wouldn’t last long in a busy Baggins warehouse—but you might have better luck.
The always-dependable Vans Authentic Lo Pros are also available in other hues, like the Vans Authentic Lo Pro Tawny Port/True White that offer a little colour to your winter wardrobe and will transition easily into spring 2017.
…While the Vans Authentic Lo Pro Pewter/White offer a more timeless option. The lightweight dark grey canvas uppers paired with comfortable Vans foot beds, stark-white rubber sidewalls, and classic waffle soles will ensure your feet feel amazing all day and night.
When Miranda feels like kicking the colours up a notch, she pulls out her Vans multi-coloured skate shoes. Part of the 50th Anniversary collection curated by Steve Van Doren, the Vans Sk8-Hi 38 (50th) STV/Multi Colour feature patterns and colours pulled from the Vans archives. Inside, these shoes have a light blue and navy checkered pattern.
With these Vans Multi Colours in your possession, you’ll never be left staring at a pile of shoes after a house party wondering which pair is yours.
Miranda also owns a favourite pair of kicks from the Converse Andy Warhol Collection. Once she joined the Baggins team, she couldn’t resist scooping a pair Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Top by Andy Warhol in Brillo Soap Pads White/Red/Blue that feature Warhol’s iconic art.
The vintage ad for Brillo Soap featured on this pair owned by Miranda are reminiscent of the great advertising age of the 50s and 60s.
At Baggins, the role of Warehouse Supervisor is not for the faint of heart, especially during the holidays. For example, in 2016 alone we shipped out more than 1,200 packages worldwide for Christmas—not to mention the constant new arrivals, custom prints, and countless accessories we stock in addition to all your favourite Vans, Converse, Stance, and Herschel looks.
Leading up to Christmas, Miranda says the top styles she saw flying out the warehouse were the daintier styles like the Converse Ballet styles, Converse Low tops, and Vans Lo Pros. “In the summertime we definitely see an increase in low-top white shoes,” she says.
It can be a lot to keep track of, but Miranda enjoys the pace. “I enjoy being the problem solver and having an awesome group to work with,” she says of her favourite things about working at Baggins.
Afterwards, when it’s all over for the day or week, Miranda’s favourite places to be are at home sipping tea and reading, or hanging at the local pub with the crew. She also loves escaping Victoria every so often to surf the best beaches in Tofino.
In closing, we want to thank Miranda for keeping things moving in the warehouse in 2016 and we look forward to another year of great tunes, silly dances, good jokes, cute pets & good times!
