Introduce yourself:

Hi, I’m Melchor and I’m a multi-media artist based in Vancouver, BC Canada.

When did you start creating art? Do you remember your first piece of art?

I started creating art as soon as I was able to pick up a pencil. My first piece of art was a drawing of a tree and a unicorn.

What are the circumstances where you feel most inspired?

I feel most inspired when I just come back from a hike in the forest, a walk through a gallery or after reading a book.

Is there something you can’t live without in your studio?

I can’t live without music in my studio.

What made you want to pursue this project with Baggins?

I was just synchronistic how it happened, so I just followed through.

If you had to choose one shoe for the rest of your life, would it be Converse, Dr. Martens or Vans?

Tough choice for each one has it’s advantage but I like to take things slow and easy so Vans would be the best choice.

When you’re not creating art, what do you get up to in Vancouver?

I get outside a lot for Vancouver has many accessible outdoor activities.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

I would like to meet Buddha.

Who have you been listening to recently?

Laura Marling and plenty of lo-fi hip hop.

Do you have an illustration or project you’re most proud of?

I’m super stoked for this collaboration with Baggins for it’s the first time my art is wearable.

What does the future have in store for you?

Too much to list but I can say the future is bright and wonderful, with plenty more collaborations.
